The London Jazz Meetup

Welcome to London Jazz Meetup. This is a group for people who love jazz music: from trad to modern, swing to be-bop, soulful to jazz-rock, even the blues. It's for fans, or casual listeners, who want to enjoy concerts, gigs and get-togethers. Our aim is simple. To provide an opportunity for lovers of Jazz music to meet, share, and enjoy together music in a range of venues across the city, from the large to the small. And to have fun. Introduce yourself and share why you joined. It's really helpful for organising things if members can add a personal photo and RSVP...even if you can't come!! Do also checkout the message board regularly for news about the meetup and new events. There will be regular polls giving you an opportunity to tell members and organiser what sort of music you like. This website isn't free. It costs the organiser to host it monthly - so if you value the site and the things people organise, please contribute a measly £2 a year to keep it going. Meetups like this thrive on people coming up with ideas for gigs or other social events they want to try out, and encouraging everyone else to join in. WHAT'S YOUR IDEA?

Stanley Clarke is playing the Jazz Cafe again, as he did last year. I saw that set and it was fantastic. Stanley has also recently announced that he's reforming Return to Forever. Stanley Clarke is the foremost exponent of jazz bass (electric and upright) for over thirty years now. Read more
