Come and see Feufollet, French Cajun music at 7:40 p.m. at the Cedar Cultural Center. I will be waiting in the will call area wearing black and a long multi-colored scarf. Look for me and get your tickets. We will sit down by 7:45 p.m.

Come to the Cedar Cultural Center Saturday at 7:45 p.m. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. Music starts at 8:00 p.m. Buy your tickets in advance. Tickets may sell out. Buy tickets online http://www.thecedar.o... or by phone at 612-338-2674. Advance tickets are $15 and $18 the day of the show. I have two half price tickets for the first two people to mark themselves as yes. They will be avaliable at the main ticket area under my name.

It starts out with an infectious fiddle line. A crisply strummed guitar comes bouncing in and soon, drums, bass and t-fer have all joined pursuit on the album's opener La Danse du Feufollet. The melody's escapingly familiar, its Cajun with a Celtic tinge, and its Beausoleil-like drive catches you off guard. Their average age might be 12, but their deft musicianship ranks them with peers decades older.
Dan Willging, www.OFFBeat.com (1999)

Beyond their growing musical virtuosity, what sets Feufollet apart from other young bands is this ability to speak?and especially sing?in Cajun French. Their mastery of the language along with the music has enabled them not only to understand songs from oral tradition, but has opened up the creative possibility of writing new material?all with a beguiling mix of authoritative voice and youthful passion, seriousness of purpose and artistic risk-taking.

I'm leaving a free pass for Jolie at the main ticket table (not will-call). She'll then find me at the merch table inside and get two more free passes. The next two members to arrive will find her in the outside lobby with a free pass to share and split the second ticket (half price!). Repeat for the next two members. Only requirement: you have to say you're coming beforehand. Right now Ken and maybe Amy will get half-price tickets. We'd love to see two more show up for some ragin' Cajun licks.

Here dance means DANCE! The Cedar sets up chairs around the sides and leaves the center open, and the local Cajun dance crowd streams in. I've requested dance lessons. I recommend Chai's, the Thai restaurant next door, for those who want to nosh before they boogie.
